Supporting Cate White For Circuit Court Judge - And Response (4)

Tuesday, April 24, 2018

I am writing on behalf of Catherine "Cate" White in support of her campaign for Circuit Court judge. Catherine White has, as a member of the Hamilton County Republican Women, been active in ideas and principles that better promote local and national government that affects citizens' everyday lives.

I have known Catherine White since I began tutoring her son, Shiloh, several years ago. I have found her to be kind, caring, loyal, and trustworthy.

In the Hamilton County Herald, reporter David Lapard stated, "Since the Bar planted the seed of interest in the law in White almost 40 years ago, the branches of her career have grown tall and wide to provide a restful place to which her clients can come to resolve their problems.  Her mediation practice can even provide shade from the heat of discord."

Lapard's statement attests to the fact that Catherine White is an outstanding excellent attorney who possesses the intelligence and judicial temperament  necessary for the position, as to which I also agree.

It is my pleasure to recommend Catherine "Cate" White, for Circuit Court judge.   She is highly qualified for the position as she has practiced family law in this community for 29 years and has sat on the bench as a special judge on multiple occasions. This experience is essential to the candidate for this position.

I have known Ms. White for over 20 years as a reputable attorney and friend. Her work in the community is notable and she is recognized by the legal community and the public as a person of integrity and commitment to high standards in her practice.

Because of her background, she is compassionate and thoughtful about how decisions in the courts can affect families and community. Her extensive knowledge, expertise and diverse experience enable her to hear and analyze cases, make sound judgments, and render fair decisions.

Ms. White has demonstrated her leadership capabilities in many activities in Chattanooga and Hamilton County.  She is a valuable asset to our community and will continue to serve us well on the bench.  I encourage voters to consider her outstanding service as they vote for the person who will preside in our Circuit Court.

I am writing on behalf of Catherine "Cate" White in support of her campaign for Circuit Court judge. I am retired from Sequoyah TVA Nuclear Plant in Soddy Daisy near Chattanooga, Tennessee.   I have known Catherine White for several years.  She is a bright shining light in the judicial area of our everyday society.

Catherine is the "best of the best" when it concerns taking care of her clients.  I can attest to this, because I saw the results of her obtaining my daughter's divorce and my friend's divorce.

Catherine is a person of integrity and the highest principles and morals.

Catherine is a devoted mother to her two children - a son and a daughter. She is a dedicated lawyer and citizen of Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, and the United States of America.  She is the daughter of the Marcia Cate, Channel 9's first lady weather forecaster, and the late Forrest Cate, Jr., former owner of Forrest Cate Ford in Chattanooga.

Having the knowledge that she has concerning the judicial system, she is the "best" choice for the position of judge in the Circuit Court Division IV.  Thank you.

I first met Catherine "Cate" White when she stopped one Sunday morning on a street comer where I was holding up a sign asking for money. Ms. White gave me money, but also invited me to go to church with her, which is where she was headed. I agreed to go and since that day, Ms. White has taken me to church each week with her.

Ms. White also assisted me in securing social security benefits as all I had to live off of was my pension through the Veteran's Administration.  She also helped me obtain low income housing, as I was homeless, and with the help of her church, obtained furnishings for my apartment. She further helped me to obtain a badly needed surgical procedure, stayed at the hospital during the entire procedure, oversaw my recovery in the hospital afterward, obtained my necessary medicine, and took me to my follow up appointments. She loves God and her actions show it.

I recommend her for the judgeship in her campaign for Circuit Court judge, because I know she will do what is right and do it with consideration and kindness toward everyone involved.

While you have a right to consider different candidates offering their talents and abilities to serve Hamilton County as Circuit Court judge of Division IV, I am Catherine "Cate" White's mother and have a unique perspective of this candidate.

Catherine already has experience on the bench sitting in as special judge over 65 times for City Court Judges Russell Bean and Sherry Paty in the past five years.

Catherine's father, Forrest Cate, Jr., lost his eyesight at 35 years of age due to diabetes when she was just 11 years old.  As such, Catherine didn't go through the typical teenage years.  She had to learn to be self-reliant and a disciplined student who excelled in all her classes at GPS.

Catherine helped me care for her two younger brothers. She also nurtured every stray dog and cat dropped off at our house on Mountain Creek Road.

While Catherine has a soft heart, she also has a keen sense of the law. Catherine will carry out the duties as a judge with respect for all.

Leaders Like Rob Hensley Make Communities Great

I would like to express my support for one of the candidates in the race for Signal Mountain Town Council, Mr. Rob Hensley. I am not one to typically share my thoughts on politics in public, but I feel that when a community is as fortunate as ours to have such a candidate as Rob Hensley, it would be wrong not to inform folks on Signal Mountain what an asset he would be to the ... We Need Esther

I've made it no secret that I support Esther Helton. I've been behind her efforts to make East Ridge a better place to live by helping create - and utilizing - a more transparent city government. She's proven herself to be trustworthy and hard working. As a former Democrat myself, I understand her choosing to become an active member of the Republican Party. While Democrats talk ... The county schools will push forward with an equity effort that appeared to have been paused after board members Rhonda Thurman and Joe Smith in May said  they rejected the idea that county schools need to “racially and economically integrate.” An equity task force did not meet for several months and the schools did not move forward on hiring an outside consultant to help ...
