Annual Go Red For Women Luncheon Takes Place Friday

The American Heart Association's 2018 Go Red For Women Luncheon will be held this Friday at The Chattanoogan Hotel, 1201 Broad St. Guests may arrive at 10 a.m.  The program begins at 11:30 a.m.

Authorities Say Hixson Man Shot And Killed His 15-Year-Old Son On Saturday Night; Also Killed Family Dog

Authorities said a Hixson man shot and killed his 15-year-old son on Saturday night. A report says Mike McElrath, 46, who was found naked at a neighbor's house, also killed the family dog. Gary Douglas, 25, was shot early Sunday morning, and Dewayne Stanley, 24, was arrested.   The Chattanooga Police Department responded at approximately  3 a.m.   to a person shot on the 4700 block of Murray Lake Lane.
